We know that not everyone loves Valentines Day, while others adore the holiday. It's a nice excuse to buy tasty chocolate, but a lousy day to go out to dinner. It's also the lousiest day of the year to work in a restaurant, because everybody had the idea to go out for a romantic dinner all at the same time. And as a customer, how well is your date really going when the staff are too busy to grab a wine bottle opener or when you have to wait 40 minutes for a table? Not to mention, if you're really a sucker for punishment, go out alone on V-Day and wait 40 minutes for a table, sneering at all the couples making kissy faces while they wait for their romantic dinner to begin. Wait, this post is turning mean. Okay, here are some suggestions from HDE for how to spend your Valentines Day: celebrate your friendships, partnerships, and family and make time for your loved ones, from your spouse to your best friends to your pets.
Don't stress about having to "go out" or "do something special" - staying in and really getting to talk to someone is more meaningful than having a receipt for dinner leftover at the end of the night. So, how about: Mood lighting? (Hey, flashlights can be romantic too-- ghost stories?) <3 <3 <3 @){-----'--------,-- =^.^=
